Connect Lead Strategist to ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor

Lead Strategist is a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol) with Danish CVR company data and figures from annual reports. You connect it once, and from then on your AI can look up companies whenever you ask.

Before you start

1. Create a free account and confirm your email address. The server rejects accounts that have not been confirmed.
2. Have the URL https://leadstrategist.dk/mcp ready. You do not paste any key into ChatGPT or Claude. They send you to our login page, where you approve read access.

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

Custom connectors work on Claude Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. Free users can have one custom connector. The connection is made from Anthropic's servers, so it works the same on the web and in Claude Desktop.

Pro and Max (and Free):

1. Go to Customize → Connectors.
2. Click + and choose Add custom connector.
3. Enter the name Lead Strategist and paste https://leadstrategist.dk/mcp.
4. Leave Advanced settings empty. Claude registers itself with us.
5. Click Add, then Connect. Log in with your Lead Strategist account and approve read access.
6. Turn the connector on in a conversation with the + button in the lower left → Connectors.

Team and Enterprise: An Owner first adds the connector under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web with the same URL. Each member then connects their own Lead Strategist account under Customize → Connectors.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT calls custom MCP servers apps and requires developer mode. All Lead Strategist tools are read-only, which fits the plans that only allow read access.

• Business, Enterprise and Edu: An admin turns on developer mode under Workspace settings → Permissions & Roles → Connected Data (Developer mode / Create custom MCP connectors). On Enterprise and Edu, the admin can grant access to selected members.
• Pro: You can connect read-only MCP servers in developer mode (Settings → Apps → Advanced settings).

To create the app:

1. Go to Settings → Apps → Create (admins can also use Workspace settings → Apps → Create).
2. Name: Lead Strategist. Description: Danish CVR company data and financial figures. Read-only.
3. MCP URL: https://leadstrategist.dk/mcp. Authentication: OAuth.
4. Click Scan tools, log in with your Lead Strategist account and approve.
5. Click Create. The app appears under Settings → Apps with the Dev label.
6. Pick Lead Strategist in a new conversation from the + menu.

OpenAI API (Responses API)

Use the mcp tool type with server_url. The Responses API does not store the authorization value, so send it with every request. Use an API key from Developer setup in your account.

With OAuth (if you are building a client):

• Public clients only (token_endpoint_auth_method: none) with PKCE S256.
• The scope is cvr:read (offline_access is also accepted, e.g. from ChatGPT; refresh tokens are always issued), and resource must be https://leadstrategist.dk/mcp.
• Access tokens last 1 hour. Refresh tokens last 30 days and are rotated on every use.
• A request without a valid token gets 401 with a WWW-Authenticate header that points to the metadata.

Tools

All tools are read-only. There is no SQL access and there are no write tools.

Test the connection

Send this prompt once the connector is turned on:

Use Lead Strategist to find 5 active Danish companies with 10–50 employees. Show the CVR number and briefly explain why each company matches.

Troubleshooting

• 401 or "Invalid or expired OAuth token": Disconnect and reconnect the connector.
• "Verified account required": Confirm your email address in your account.
• A message about quota or trial: Your free quota has been used.
• 429 "Rate limit exceeded": More than 60 calls per minute. Wait a moment.
• Claude or ChatGPT cannot reach the server: Check that you entered exactly https://leadstrategist.dk/mcp.

About the data

• Around 948,000 companies from CVR. Master data comes from an extract from autumn 2025 and is not yet updated daily.
• Financial figures from published annual reports for around 460,000 companies. We are currently re-importing and improving them.
• No data yet on owners, boards or other people.
• Companies with CVR advertising protection (reklamebeskyttelse) must not be contacted for marketing. The tools exclude them by default and flag them with contact_warning.
